Running of the Reindeer
Racers have their choice of four different "herds" in a mad dash down the streets of Anchorage in an effort to outrun reindeer.
Presented by the KWHL 106.5 Morning Show and Fur Rondy, 2020 marks the 13th year for this internationally acclaimed event, which raises funds for Toys for Tots. Join the world and Alaska by running or watching this favorite Rondy event.
The South Central Chapter of the Alaska Trappers Association brings you the finest in Alaska Fur, continuing its legacy as one of the original events of Rondy.
The Fur Auction has been a staple since the beginning, when the festival was named in honor of the economic importance of the Alaska fur trade. The fur trade was Alaska’s third most valuable industry in those days, so incorporating the industry into the celebration was a logical idea. Presented by the Alaska Trappers Association.
Charlotte Jensen Native Arts Market
Hundreds of vendors from across Alaska showcase exquisite works of art. Featuring more than 150 Alaska Native artisans selling and demonstrating their art – basket weaving, dolls, beading, carving and more. This is a rare opportunity to meet and greet the artists and watch them create one-of-a-kind items. Most are Silver Hand Artists.
Rondy Carnival (Daily)
Brought to you by the same family since 1967, the Rondy Carnival is THE place to let your hair down in winter. Funnel Cakes, fishing frogs, Ferris wheels and of course the famous Century Wheel! Peer down from your private gondola in the sky on the entire inlet. Grab a caramel apple and a root beer float and hit the zipper! You’ve never felt anything like this before.
