This two‑day, in‑person workshop—conducted in coordination with the National Transportation Safety Board’s (NTSB) Transportation Disaster Assistance (TDA) Division—provides air carriers with practical, in‑depth training on family assistance operations following a serious aviation accident.

The workshop focuses on the organizational, leadership, and coordination responsibilities of air carriers during an accident response, with particular emphasis on compliance with federal family assistance legislation, effective engagement with affected families, and coordination with the NTSB and other response partners. Sessions are led by NTSB family assistance and emergency operations professionals, with additional perspectives from state and humanitarian response partners.

Over two full days, participants will receive a comprehensive overview of the NTSB’s role following an aviation accident, including its independent investigative authority and responsibilities related to family assistance. The training addresses the legal, operational, and humanitarian obligations of air carriers, as well as the importance of preparedness, internal planning, and executive‑level decision‑making during high‑consequence events.

Sponsor the AACA's Transportation Disaster Assistance (TDA) Workshop with the NTSB (April 21, 2026)

Interest in AACA’s upcoming Transportation Disaster Assistance (TDA) Workshop with the NTSB has exceeded our expectations. As the program has grown, so have the logistical needs required to ensure a professional, accessible, and well‑run training for participants from across Alaska.

Become a sponsor

We remain committed to keeping this rare, high‑value training free to attendees, and we are offering a small number of additional, limited sponsorship opportunities to help underwrite venue, A/V, and event infrastructure costs that increased as participation grew.

This two‑day, in‑person workshop (April 21–22, Anchorage) brings together air carrier personnel and industry leaders for practical training on accident preparedness, family assistance responsibilities, and post‑incident coordination—led by the NTSB’s Transportation Disaster Assistance team. Having the NTSB deliver this program in Alaska is uncommon and highly valuable for our industry.

Additional Sponsorship Opportunities

All sponsorships include recognition as a supporter of aviation safety and preparedness in Alaska.

Safety Ambassador – Program Supporter | $750

Logo placement on event slides and on‑site signage

Recognition in the post‑event thank‑you email

Acknowledgment of your role in keeping the training free and accessible

Event Infrastructure Sponsor | $1,000–$1,500 (limited availability)

Recognition associated with key event costs (venue, A/V, logistics)

Logo placement on event materials and signage

Verbal acknowledgment during the workshop

Safety Champion | $250–$500

Name/logo listed on a shared “Safety Champions” recognition slide

Acknowledgment as a supporter of Alaska aviation safety training

Sponsorship support directly offsets event costs and helps ensure broad access to this important safety training for Alaska operators.

Availability is limited, and sponsorships will be confirmed on a first‑come basis.

Thank you for your continued partnership and for supporting aviation safety and preparedness in Alaska.
