This two‑day workshop, conducted in coordination with the National Transportation Safety Board’s (NTSB) Transportation Disaster Assistance (TDA) Division, is designed for air carrier management and leadership with responsibilities related to aviation accident preparedness and response.
The workshop focuses on the organizational, leadership, and coordination aspects of responding to an aviation accident, with particular emphasis on family assistance, executive‑level decision‑making, and compliance with federal requirements following an accident involving an air carrier.
Participants will receive an overview of the NTSB’s role following an aviation accident, including its independent investigative authority and its coordination responsibilities related to family assistance. The training addresses the legal, operational, and humanitarian obligations of air carriers, as well as the importance of preparedness, internal planning, and effective coordination with federal, state, and local partners.

This workshop is intended for senior leaders, executives, and managers who may be involved in organizational decision‑making, response coordination, or oversight during or following a serious aviation accident.
Each day consists of a full 8‑hour in‑person session.
